My Gear and Equipment

I get asked so often:  “What type of equipment do you use?” I wanted to have a page to share my goods! Make sure to keep in mind, that every photographer is different, so what I have may not be what you need or desire.  Let me start with my cameras.

I shoot NIKON. If you have been in the industry a bit, you know there are Nikon lovers and Canon lovers all around this world. We have a Nikon D800, D500 and D7200.  My choice out of the three for work is my D500.  When I'm photographing 35 to 45 kids per day, it has to be fast for me. The focus on this camera is right on!  The jewel the D800 is used at our wedding ceremonies!

Tamron 85mm   https://amzn.to/3BzS3dP

85mm is pretty tight, so you must have ample room to move back. This provides the PRETTIEST bokeh images, while allowing your focus to be nice and crisp.

Tamron 70-200mm G2 https://amzn.to/3BcgInk

I primarily use this for ceremony shots, but it also makes for great portraits – if you want to step back from your clients and capture from afar. You can also zoom in and when doing so the lens compression creates BEAUTIFUL Bokeh.

Tethering Cable

Tethered photography is the process of connecting your camera to a computer, tablet, or even a smartphone using either a cable or wireless app. After a successful connection between the devices, any new image captured by the camera is then passed directly to the computer and saved in a pre-designated folder.
